Description
Elegant, bite-sized appetizers featuring creamy brie cheese coated in crunchy toasted walnuts and drizzled with a sweet-tart cranberry honey glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese, chilled
- 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped and toasted
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter for frying
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cut the chilled brie into 1-inch cubes. Lightly coat each cube in flour, dip in beaten egg, then roll in toasted walnuts to coat evenly.
- In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, honey, water, salt, and pepper. Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until cranberries burst and glaze thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the walnut-crusted brie cubes for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is slightly softened. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Arrange brie bites on a serving platter, drizzle with cranberry honey glaze, and serve immediately.
