Description

A savory and aromatic garlic bread topped with fresh tomatoes and basil, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.

For the Crust:

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French bread in half lengthwise.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, softened butter, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Arrange the tomato slices on top of the garlic butter, then sprinkle with chopped basil and shredded mozzarella.
  5. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden.
  6. Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
