For the Crust:
- 1 package phyllo dough
- 2 cups walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 cup dried figs, chopped
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup honey
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 8 sheets of phyllo dough in the baking dish, brushing each with melted butter.
- In a bowl, mix walnuts, figs, and cinnamon. Spread a portion over the phyllo. Layer with 4 more sheets, alternating butter and nut mixture until all ingredients are used, ending with phyllo.
- Cut into diamonds with a sharp knife. Bake for 30 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Drizzle with honey upon removing from the oven. Allow to cool before serving.
