Description

A sweet and savory appetizer featuring toasted baguette slices topped with creamy ricotta, sautéed apples, rosemary-infused honey, and crunchy pecans.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
  • 2 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush lightly with olive oil, and toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine honey and rosemary sprig. Warm over low heat for 5-7 minutes, then remove rosemary and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add apple slices and sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized. Season with a pinch of salt.
  4. Spread a generous layer of ricotta on each toasted baguette slice. Top with warm apple slices and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  5. Drizzle each crostini with rosemary honey, season with black pepper, and serve immediately.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
