Description

A delightful and elegant dessert featuring tender baked pears filled with salty feta cheese, sweet dried cranberries, and a drizzle of honey. Perfect for a cozy autumn evening or a sophisticated dinner party.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 4 firm but ripe pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Cut the pears in half lengthwise and use a melon baller or small spoon to remove the core and seeds, creating a small hollow in each half.
  3. Brush the cut sides of the pears with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the crumbled feta, dried cranberries, 2 tablespoons of honey, cinnamon, and walnuts (if using). Mix gently.
  5. Spoon the feta mixture into the hollows of each pear half, pressing lightly to fill.
  6. Place the stuffed pears in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of honey over the tops.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the pears are tender and the filling is warm and slightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm, with an extra drizzle of honey if desired.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a dairy-free version, substitute the feta with a vegan alternative or omit it entirely.
