Description
A delightful and elegant dessert featuring tender baked pears filled with salty feta cheese, sweet dried cranberries, and a drizzle of honey. Perfect for a cozy autumn evening or a sophisticated dinner party.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 4 firm but ripe pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 3 tablespoons honey, plus extra for drizzling
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Cut the pears in half lengthwise and use a melon baller or small spoon to remove the core and seeds, creating a small hollow in each half.
- Brush the cut sides of the pears with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- In a small bowl, combine the crumbled feta, dried cranberries, 2 tablespoons of honey, cinnamon, and walnuts (if using). Mix gently.
- Spoon the feta mixture into the hollows of each pear half, pressing lightly to fill.
- Place the stuffed pears in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of honey over the tops.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the pears are tender and the filling is warm and slightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm, with an extra drizzle of honey if desired.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a dairy-free version, substitute the feta with a vegan alternative or omit it entirely.
