For the Crust:
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced or torn
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: balsamic glaze for drizzling
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Arrange sliced strawberries and mozzarella on a serving platter, alternating and overlapping.
- Tuck torn basil leaves between the layers.
- In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper until emulsified.
- Drizzle the dressing over the salad.
- If desired, finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze for extra sweetness and presentation.
- Serve immediately at room temperature.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a dairy-free version, use vegan mozzarella.
