For the Crust:
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 8 ounces brie cheese, sliced
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush lightly with olive oil, and toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
- In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until reduced to a syrupy glaze. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Top each toasted baguette slice with a slice of brie, followed by a few strawberry slices. Drizzle with the balsamic glaze and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper if desired.
- Serve immediately while the crostini are still warm and the brie is slightly melted.
