For the Crust:
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 pound lump crab meat
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles al dente according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, cream, and chicken broth. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, half of the mozzarella, half of the cheddar, and the thyme and oregano. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
- Fold in shrimp and crab meat gently.
- Spread a thin layer of sauce in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, then one-third of the remaining sauce, and repeat layers twice. Top with remaining noodles and remaining sauce.
- Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and cheddar on top.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a richer flavor, use fresh herbs instead of dried.
