Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 ounces brie cheese, rind removed and softened
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup fig jam
- 2 tablespoons hot honey (or regular honey with a pinch of red pepper flakes)
- 1/4 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush both sides with olive oil, and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp. Let cool.
- In a small bowl, combine softened brie and butter. Whip with a fork or electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Spread each crostini with a generous layer of whipped brie.
- Top with a small dollop of fig jam.
- Drizzle with hot honey to taste.
- Sprinkle with toasted walnuts and fresh thyme leaves. Serve immediately.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a milder heat, use regular honey instead of hot honey. Toast the walnuts in a dry pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
