- 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup hot fudge sauce, warmed
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- Maraschino cherries for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes (brownies will be slightly underdone). Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in vanilla and sour cream until combined.
- Pour cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- For the topping, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread or pipe over cooled cheesecake.
- Drizzle warm hot fudge sauce over the whipped cream. Sprinkle with nuts if desired and top with cherries.
- Slice and serve chilled. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For extra chocolate flavor, add 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips to the cheesecake batter.
