A delicious and elegant appetizer featuring creamy brie cheese wrapped in flaky puff pastry with a bright lemon herb flavor.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (8 oz) wheel brie cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together lemon zest, rosemary, thyme, garlic, honey, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the brie wheel on the puff pastry sheet. Spread the lemon herb mixture evenly over the top of the brie.
  4. Fold the puff pastry over the brie, sealing the edges. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  5. Place seam side down on the baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a sweeter version, add a drizzle of honey before baking.
